Background Tension

Background tension describes a persistent sense of tightness or readiness that remains outside the foreground of awareness.

It is not always consciously noticed,
yet it subtly shapes posture, movement, and comfort.

This tension does not demand attention through pain or intensity.
Instead, it forms a continuous backdrop to bodily experience.

Background tension is defined by persistence without prominence.
